Just when we thought her hair could not get any cooler, Megan Fox, one of the hottest women alive (Margot Robbie aside, of course!) has undergone another total hair transformation. And we freakin’ love it!
Megan, 37, has turned into somewhat of a hair chameleon in the past year. But while most of us are usually content with browns, blacks, reds and blondes (ooh and gray, of course!), it seems Megan has her eyes on a far more eye-catching array of hair colors.
Up until this week, the Transformers and New Girl actress had been showing off long, baby pink locks on the red carpet, working her hair into soft grungey waves at the 2024 People’s Choice Awards and proving that pink is not only an awesome, cutting edge hair color but totally rock and roll.
Before Megan went pink, she was previously seen rocking a bright red, French bob at the end of last year which her hairdresser and long-time bestie, Dimitris Giannetos called ‘red velvet.’ And if his followers were in any doubt of the ‘realness’ of this fiery look he later followed up the image with the words, “#notawig.” Take that, hair cynics!
Red… pink… is there no hair color Megan does not suit? Nope, because this week she switched it up yet again. And her new look is just as awesome as the last one. Sigh!
On Monday she teased us by taking to her Instagram page with a ten-part carousel of her favorite Barbiecore pink hair snaps to commemorate the final days of her pastel locks.
“In memoriam of my pink hair era,” she wrote, alongside her favorite snaps from the last three months.
This left no doubt as to what was doing down with her hair color, but begged the question: exactly what was going to come next? Would she go back to her more natural-looking brunette locks? Or maybe she’d go blonde for summer?
Ha, not even close. Thankfully, however, we only had to wait 24 hours to see Megan’s hair transformation (*and yes, we know there’s a Transformers gag in there somewhere but we’re not going there).
On Tuesday, April 2, her new look was revealed in all its denim blue glory and, again, it was Hollywood hairstylist, colorist and Oscars regular, Giannetos who created and showcased her incredible new look.
Giannetos regularly has his hands on the hair of some of the hottest A-listers in Tinseltown, coiffing, cutting, styling and coloring the likes of Gigi Hadid, Ciara, Eva Longoria and Camila Cabello. He is also a long-time friend of Megan’s so it should have been no surprise when he unveiled her latest ice blue bob via his Instagram feed.
“Blue jeans… for the one n ONLY @meganfox,” he captioned alongside a gallery of five stunning snaps.
Pretty darn cute, huh? And what’s most thrilling is that, according to Giannetos, Megan’s new color was created using… wait for it… a humble box color. Yes, he used an at-home hair dye that us mere mortals can also get our hands on. So, there is a hair god listening to us, after all!
The color in question was L’Oreal Paris Féria Multi-Facted Shimmering Colo in Sapphire Smoke which, correct us if we’re wrong, looks exactly the same shade as Megan’s eyes. Nice touch.
Giannetos also left some pieces lighter than others (probably not an easy look to copy at home, tbh!) and left her roots dark and more natural-looking to maintain the grungey rock-chick vibes she was giving off during her recent pink era. We love that.
Some of us might have been more than happy to transform our hair with EITHER a new chop OR a dramatic new color. But oh no, not our Megan. She went all in with both. And if anyone can, Megan can. Giannetos chopped off a good few inches of her hair, working it into a stunning, blunt bob. Her long, face-framing layers were cut to around chin-length and styled over into a sexy, voluminous side-sweep with beautifully blow-dried lengths and flicked ends.
He also showcased how fabulous it looks when it’s worn straighter and in an off-center part, proving that bobs are just as versatile as long hair. And much less weighty around your neck if you were looking for a new do for spring?
Megan is obviously just as pleased with her new look as the creator of her ‘do – erm, as well she might be! – because she also treated her 21+ million Instagram followers to a bunch of extra photos as she entered what she called her ‘jedi era.’
Of course, there’ll be all manner of color maintenance required to stop this cool, pastel shade from fading but hey, we’re pretty sure she’ll manage. And if it starts to annoy her? Well, there are plenty more colors in the rainbow she’s not yet tried! Stay tuned…
