Saweetie is frequently seen wearing wigs of many colors. From pink and extra (like REALLY extra) long to blue and super edgy, the American rapper loves to experiment with hair lengths, styles, textures and colors. And we’re all over that.
After all, playing around with wigs is way better than constantly coloring your hair and risking all manner of damage. Smart.
But still, we similarly love to see some of our favorite stars in all their natural beauty. So it was great to see Saweetie in the hairdresser’s chair this week (July 22), enjoying a fabulous cut and style-up thanks to top celebrity hairstylist and self-confessed ‘queen of curls,’ Sabrina Ahmed.
“Trim trim,” she posted to Tiktok, looking super chic and understated for the usually very much ‘out there’ ‘NANi’ rapper. Dressed in black sweat pants and a cropped black tank, Saweetie was clearly enjoying some me-time, away from the stage and cameras, and in the safe hands of her hairstylist.
That being said, her stiletto nails and flawless makeup remained inch-perfect, with false lashes, contoured eyes and glossy lips very much in place. Dang, if only we looked so perfectly groomed on off-duty days!
Must. Try. Harder.
But back to Saweetie and her gorgeous curls which we love, love, LOVE. Having been trimmed, styled and fluffed up with a little hairspray, they look bouncy, light and super flattering, falling just above her collarbones.
She seems pretty stoked, too!
Saweetie is usually seen performing in some kind of fabulous wig. Whether it be the floor-length, baby pink one she wore in the ‘NANi’ video, to the lime green, geometric bob she crushed on a recent cover of Allure magazine, there is no color or style she hasn’t crushed at some point.
A couple of years ago, she even buzzed off all of her hair which was prompted by a desire for a new beginning.
“I wanted to start over and I did research about hair and hair holds a lot of energy,” she revealed in an interview with Power 106, a commercial radio station in Los Angeles, California.
“And I really wanted to just feel new and fresh with this new music. I won’t say new me. But elevated me,” she added.
We wonder if something similar has prompted Saweetie’s return to a more natural-looking, curly girl vibe. Or maybe she just fancied a trim and wanted to show her adoring fans what her hair looked like in all its curly glory.
Well, she got her answers because the comments she received were glowing, to say the least!
“There isn’t a style that won’t look bomb on her,” posted one TikTok fan.
“Love them curls in your hair!” agreed another.
And her 12.7 million Instagram followers felt the same…
“She looks amazing!”
