Bridgerton star Nicola Coughlan is turning heads with her latest campaign for Kim Kardashian’s shapewear brand Skims. The Irish actress, known for her portrayal of Penelope Featherington, is channeling Renaissance beauty in the new ads with a hairstyle reminiscent of Botticelli’s iconic paintings.

Coughlan has transformed into a living Renaissance painting, showcasing the brand’s popular Fits Everybody Dress in a series of ethereal images. The Botticelli-inspired hair features loose, flowing curls that frame Coughlan’s face and drape gracefully over her shoulders. The effect is both dreamy and sophisticated.

The campaign, shot by acclaimed photographer Elizaveta Porodina, draws inspiration from Coughlan’s romantic Bridgerton character.

The standout feature is undoubtedly Coughlan’s hair, styled in what can only be described as Botticelli waves. This look, crafted by extensions expert Sophie Thomas and hairstylist Halley Brisker, gives Coughlan an almost mermaid-like appearance.

Coughlan’s luscious locks cascade in soft, romantic waves, evoking the ethereal beauty seen in Botticelli masterpieces like ‘The Birth of Venus’.  The slightly darker roots add to the organic feel of the style, creating an effect as if Coughlan had just emerged from the sea.

The look combines classic elegance with a modern twist, perfectly complementing the Skims line’s blend of comfort and style.

This collaboration between Coughlan and Skims not only showcases the versatility of the brand but also highlights the actress’s ability to embody different personas, from Regency-era debutante to contemporary Roman goddess.

Complementing the dreamy hair is Coughlan’s makeup, courtesy of artist Neil Young. The look features a dewy complexion with a flush of pink blush extending to her temples, glossy pink lips, and minimal eye makeup. The overall effect is a glazed, pearlescent glow that enhances the painted quality of the images.

As period dramas continue to influence modern fashion and beauty trends, Coughlan’s Botticelli-esque look in the Skims campaign serves as a perfect example of how historical aesthetics can offer fresh style inspo right now…
