If ever there was an advocate for red being the best hair color of them all, it’s Christina Hendricks.

Ever since she graced our TV screens as Joan Holloway Harris on the hit AMC show, Mad Men, Christina’s classic Hollywood look has had us Googling ‘how to color your hair red’ so many times we’ve lost count. Her flawless, porcelain skin and amazing, to-die-for figure also make her feature highly on our list of celebrities we would definitely love to look like.

Like Ariana Grande’s infamous ponytail and Jennifer Aniston’s softly layered locks, red hair is definitely Christina’s ‘thing’ but the Good Girls star does not let that stop her from switching things up every now and again. After all, she was born a natural blonde.

Wait, whaaat? Yes, Christina was blonde until around the age of 10 when she started dying it because she wanted to channel Anne of Green Gables vibes!

“I always thought there was something romantic about red, it was a little bit different and quirky and that’s how I saw myself,” she explained in a 2015 interview with Cosmopolitan magazine.

Not only is the 49-year-old not afraid of hair color, but she often switches up the length of her hair, too. It generally sits just below her shoulders but this goes up and down quite often making us wonder if she simply plays around with extensions to lengthen her look whenever she fancies it.

Stranger things have happened, right?

Earlier this week, on August 12, however, we got a glimpse of what seems to be her current natural hair length when she posted a gallery of snaps on Instagram while enjoying some time with Mother Nature.

“Doin’ some east coast livin’,” she posted. “The air smells so sweet.”

In the standout photo Christina looks fresh-faced and gorgeous while wearing a simple white tee, oversized sunglasses and a felt, wide-brimmed hat to ensure that devilish sun doesn’t harm her delicate pale skin. Smart move.

She’s also wearing minimal makeup and jewelry – just a simple chain necklace and stud earrings finish her look.

Oh, and check out the length of her hair! Sitting just below her chin, it’s a far cry from her usual tumbling red carpet curls, that’s for sure.

“You look great as always!” posted one of her many Instagram followers. “I love your haircut… we want to see you more! We love you Christina!!”

“Wait, did you cut your hair?” asked another fan.

Maybe… but probably not. We’re going to take a wild stab in the dark that the true length of her real hair has probably been somewhere in this ballpark for a while. But hey, it’s super refreshing to see celebrities in their off-duty style, showing off their untouched hair and ‘still’ looking freakin’ great!

Earlier this year, Christina married George Bianchini, a Steadifast camera operator who she met on the set of NBC’s Good Girls back in 2020. The couple tied the knot at a beautiful ceremony in New Orleans where Christina wore her hair long and wavy thanks to close friend and top celebrity hairstylist, Kat Thompson.

For this stunning boho look, Kat used products from the Pro Artist Heat Protection collection alongside the fabulous 24k Gold Collection Extended Barrel Curling Iron which is a great tool (and not too crazy-expensive) for creating long-lasting curls and tumbling waves.
